More and more of the weddings we photograph bring two families and two traditions together: a Hindu ceremony in the morning and a church or garden ceremony in the afternoon, an Anand Karaj and a white dress, a Sangeet where half the guests are learning the steps for the first time.

RHIPO Photography photographs Indian fusion and interfaith weddings across Seattle and Washington. Hitesh leads every wedding. He knows the Indian rituals from the inside and plans the whole celebration with both families, so each tradition gets the same care and neither side feels like a guest at the other’s wedding.

One wedding, more than one tradition

A fusion wedding is really several weddings with their own order, timing and etiquette. We plan each one separately and then build the days around them:

    • Hindu ceremonies: the Baraat, the Varmala, the Kanyadaan, the Pheras and the Sindoor
    • Sikh ceremonies: the Milni and the Anand Karaj with its four Lavan, in the gurdwara
    • Christian and civil ceremonies: the processional, the vows, the ring exchange and the first kiss
    • Shared events: Haldi, Mehndi, Sangeet, the Choodah and a reception that brings everyone together

We also photograph what is unique to fusion weddings: a groom’s family trying on turbans for the first time, grandparents from two continents meeting, and the moment one family steps into the other’s ceremony.

    Planning a multi-day, multi-faith celebration

Before the wedding we sit down with you to build a single timeline across every event and venue. We confirm each officiant’s rules on where we can stand and when we can use flash, plan travel between the gurdwara, temple, church or venue, and agree on the family photo lists for both sides.

On the day, you do not need to explain the rituals to us or brief us between ceremonies. That leaves you free to be in your own wedding.

    Questions couples ask

Have you photographed interfaith Indian weddings?
Yes. Our Ananya & John gallery covers Sikh, Hindu and Christian ceremonies across five days.
Can you cover two ceremonies on the same day?
Yes. We plan travel and timing between venues before the wedding, and we can cover multiple days.
One of our families is not Indian. Will they feel included?
Yes. We photograph both families with the same care, and we will explain what is happening to guests who are new to Indian ceremonies if they ask.
Do you photograph Sikh, Hindu and Christian ceremonies?
Yes. See our Sikh and Hindu wedding pages for more on each.
How far ahead should we book?
We recommend 9 to 12 months, and earlier for multi-day weddings in summer.
